Blessings for a New Year

Thankful again to Jack Manno for writing his beautiful book, Blessings for Times Like These, several years ago. He's inspired me and others to write blessings, to see ourselves as capable of offering blessings. 

Here is one for this moment, as we round the bend from 2025 to 2026: 

Let peace be understood as justice that requires all of us, no exceptions 

Let a flood of remembering the sacredness of all life sweep humanity 

Let us, with joy in our hearts, embrace the gifts of living more and more simply in thanks for the gift of life

Let those who forget these things be promptly and lovingly reminded

Let joy in caring for future generations guide our vision and actions. 

May the suffering of our time be the birthpangs of new systems emerging to replace the old.

May it be so.
